Another strong month for literary fiction. A couple of novels listed below didn’t quite make our top three, but still showed real stylistic promise.

This was not a strong month for well-written crime fiction. It never is, seemingly, so we’ll be dropping crime novels and thrillers from the recent releases we look at.
